Abstract Egyptian government do a great effort to increase the new urban areas to face the high rate of increasing population. The New Mansoura City is among the new compound the resident, it is located on the northern coastal zone of the Nile delta between latitudes 31◦ 33’ 15” N and 31◦ 25’ 15” N, and longitudes 31◦ 32’ 45” E, and 31◦ 17’ 45” E. It is situated 15km to the west of Gamasa city and extends 6km on the shoreline and 12km to the west of New Damietta city and 20 km to the east of Baltim city. The topography of the study area is most important to describe the geomorphological features in the area. GIS techniques were used to study the topography of the area. The Hydrochemical study of the collected samples was carried out using Schoeller semi-logarithmic (1962), piper Trilinear (1944), and Sulin (1948) diagrams. The distribution of samples indicates an old marine origin for samples near to the shoreline and meteoric origin for samples far from the shoreline. |
