Abstract
This research aims to shed light on the effectiveness of public relations department activities in hospitals to improve the condition of mentally ill patients by reaching proposals on the roles that public relations management should play within hospitals and thus improving patients’ condition psychologically.
The research sample consisted of (100) individuals, (80) individual patients, at a rate of (80.0%), and they are detainees in the internal departments and frequenting the outpatient clinics of the hospital, which is the highest percentage, while the number of workers was (20) individuals at a rate of (20.0%) of Hospital employees, and the selection was done by the method of tables of random numbers, so that we guarantee equal opportunities for all the search terms in the selection, after applying the simple random sample size selection law with an error rate of 14%.
The study belongs to the descriptive research where the social sample survey method was used based on the questionnaire as a basic tool for data collection. The questionnaire forms were applied by (100) questionnaires divided: (80) individual patients in the hospital and (20) hospital workers to know their opinions about the effectiveness of activities Hospitals Public Relations Department in improving the condition of patients mentally, and the research has reached many results, the most important of which is that there are many psychological effects that patients suffer, as some hospital patients feel psychosomatic diseases (physical / psychogenic diseases).
The study recommended the importance of hospital management’s interest in providing an integrated treatment team of doctors, social workers and psychologists to provide support and social support to patients in order to reduce the feeling of psychological effects
