Abstract Pancreatic cancer has a relatively high incidence, making it one of the top ten incidence cancers and rank the fourth among cancer related death. Patients with pancreatic cancer are best cared for by multidisciplinary teams that include surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, nutritionists and pain specialists. Resection remains the only chance for a cure of pancreatic adenocarcinoma, and resectable patients should undergo surgery, followed by adjuvant therapy. Borderline resectable patients can receive neoadjuvant therapy in the hope of undergoing surgery and higher chance of negative margin. Patients with locally advanced unresectable disease and good performance status can undergo chemotherapy and chemoradiation.Good performance status patients presenting with metastatic disease can receive palliative chemotherapy and also, any other palliative measures should be considered. Early introduction of supportive/ palliative care might provide patients with better physical and emotional symptom control and better quality of life. |
