Abstract

This thesis aims to provide an analytical vision of The Hand of Fatima from a historical literary perspective. As well as it seeks to know closely the moors and their cause. The present study tries to transmit the image of the moors during a traumatic period in the history. The first chapter tackles the socio-cultural life of the moors and the anosmatic of this term. Nevertheless, we will highlight the moors presence in the principals kingdoms of Spain. In this sense, we will mention the reason and consequences of their Diaspora. Moreover, the destinations where they install after the forced deportation.
It is absolutely crucial to have a panoramic vision through presenting this chapter. The second chapter deals with both theory a practice through relating the history and its relation with the literature in reflecting the history mirror. Thus, it represents the relation of the historic novel and its relation with The Hand of Fatima. In additions to that, we will mention the most important narrations which deal with the image of the moors.
The last chapter is merely analytical where we will group some analytical features in the novel and present them in their social and historical framework with a literary vision by the author himself. Therefore, we will analyze the novel from a imagological perspective, taking in consideration the style of the author and the language used in the novel.
