Abstract

The present study demonstrated that CCl4 has exerted a significant change biochemical, immunological, molecular, histological and immunohistochemical parameters CAPE or CC injection promoted a beneficial effect on rat liver after CCl4 intoxication represented by a significant decrease of oxidative stress markers and simultaneously increased antioxidants. In addition it attenuated liver DNA damage and showed normal protein pattern. The enhancement of lymphocyte count and function, furthermore, the neutrophil count and its phagocytic activity also confirm the ability of CAPE and CC to activate the animal’s immune system. The histological, immunohistochemical studies showed the effectivness of both CAPE and CC on the liver structure and expression of αSMA than that of CCl4 group.
