Abstract

The interests in the study of thiosemicarbazides and hydrazones have been growing due to their biological activity and coordination capacity. Hydrazones and their metal complexes have attracted considerable attention due to their application in numerous industrial and biological fields. They have shown significant activity against several kinds of tumors. The present work is devoted to the preparation of some thiosemicarbazides and hydrazones derived from phenoxyacetyl hydrazide and their transition metal complexes. The isolated complexes are characterized by conventional physical and chemical methods. The potential coordination sites are determined using infrared and 1H NMR spectra. The structurs of the isolated solid complexes are proposed on the bases of spectral (UV- and Visible) and magnetic studies. Also, the rate of corrosion of aluminum in hydrochloric acid solution, in the absence and presence of different concentrations of these compounds are investigated by chemical method (weight loss method). Antimicrobial activity of the investigated ligands and their metal complexes are carried out.
