Abstract

The prevalence of Schistosomiasis irl an Egyptian village is the purpose of this study. T:tle examined locality (El-Tarha) is a small village in ,Damiette. Governorate where no previous study was undertaken and no mass treatment was applied. It was also aimed in this snudy to know the size of the problem of Schistosomiasis in an Egyptian villagE 30 years after the High Dam construction and 35 years after the revolution of 1952, to know the effects of progress, electricity and education on the prevalence rate of Schistosomiasis in an Egyptian village. A massive, practical and comprehensive study of the problem was given in this work and the individuals under research were approached for clinical and labo- ratory examination. Clinically, a stress on the main symptoms and signs of the disease was undertaken. Random samples are chosen.
