The problem of the current research was identified in the weak level of achievement of the second-year middle school students for some scientific concepts in the science subject, and their low scientific sense, which is due to a deficiency in the teaching and learning strategies that the teacher uses in teaching science to the students. Therefore, the current research aimed to develop the scientific concepts and scientific sense among the grade students. Second preparatory research sample.
To achieve this goal, the researcher prepared an interactive virtual learning environment according to Nabil Gad Azmi’s (2016) ABCDE model for designing virtual learning environments, which consisted of eight educational lessons, in addition to preparing a cognitive achievement test for some scientific concepts included in the “Periodicity of Elements and Their Properties” unit and a measure of practical sense.
To implement the research experiment, the researcher selected the research group from the female students of the second year of middle school, and it amounted to (40) female students at Osama bin Zaid School, in the city of Sohag. The researcher used a quasi-experimental design based on a single group, which uses pre/post measurement of the level of the female students in the research group.
Current research has found: The effectiveness of an interactive virtual learning environment to develop some scientific concepts and scientific sense among the research group.
Research recommendations: In light of the findings of the current research, the researcher recommends the following:
1- Using interactive virtual environments in teaching science because of their positive results in developing scientific concepts and scientific sense.
2- Including scientific sense practices in science curricula at different educational levels, according to the levels and requirements of each grade.
