Abstract

One of the most widespread GIT issues is GERD, which looks to be a common gastrointestinal problem in Egypt and the Middle East, affecting quality of life and predisposing to esophageal cancer.
Whereas burning sensations and dyspepsia are among the foremost prevalent manifestations of GERD, many other disorders might present in the same way. As a result, physicians must rule out a vast number of differential illnesses, particularly those exhibiting indicators that involve accidental weight reduction, unexplained IDA, difficulty swallowing, odynophagia, anorexia, any kind of GIT bleeding, and GIT neoplasm in a first-degree relative.
Refractory GERD is an emerging health concern that requires long-term multi-drug treatment or, eventually, surgical care, both of which have significant disadvantages for patients, therefore there is a growing need for a less invasive approach with a satisfactory outcome.
Anti-reflux endoscopic interventions are the interface between orally administered drugs and surgical approaches. ARMA is a novel endoscopic modality that depends on ablating the mucosal surfaces on the stomach side, so healing with fibrosis causes scar formation and reducing the hiatal aperture. This in turn causes the stomach cardia flap valve to contract and reshape which lessens reflux outbreaks and controls GERD.
There is much dispute over the connection that exists between GERD and HP infection. Although some studies indicate the onset of esophagitis in people whose HP infection was cured, this suggests that HP has a preventive function against GERD and its consequences.
Not overlooking the countless other studies that show a causal link between infection and the emergence of GERD.
The intent of this study was to determine the efficacy of ARMA as an emerging endoscopy modality for patients with GERD who rely on PPIs (who are experiencing drug side effects, hoping to discontinue medical therapy, or simply seeking a better quality of life) as well as its relationship to H. pylori infection.
This study was carried out on 40 candidates at Tropical Medicine Department of Alexandria main university hospital. The particip
