Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional stage of physical and psychological development that generally occurs during the period from puberty to legal adulthood.
The disruptive behavior is clinically significant behavior that interrupts the interpersonal context of the adolescent, early life stress can disrupt the HPA axis leading to altered cortisol levels, which play a role in the development of psychopathology associated with the neglect or abuse and then related to later life aggression.
Substance use disorder in adolescents is a challenge due to the early exposure and the impulsivity of the adolescent to try them or to get risky taking behavior under the substance influence.
The study type was descriptive comparative research and was held between the first of March 2019 till the end of February 2020 and 50 patients fulfilled the diagnostic criteria (according to the DSM-5 classification) with disruptive aggressive disorders, attending the adolescent outpatient clinic at Al-Abbassia Mental hospital, (divided into two groups one of conduct disorder and the other of Oppositional Defiant Disorder) were invited to share in the study; in addition, 25 adolescents representing the control group.
Both patients and control were between 12-18 years old with the same inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria
