The current study aimed to examine the reality of employing translation in educational research and authoring in the faculties of education in Egypt in the light of the knowledge society requirements, and aimed to submit a proposed perception for employing translation in educational research and authoring in the faculties of education in the light of the knowledge society requirements.
The current study relied on the descriptive approach as it is the appropriate approach according to the nature of the current study, and it relied on the questionnaire as a study tool that was applied on a sample of (258) two hundred and fifty-eight faculty members and assistants in the faculties of education at the universities (Sohag, Assiut, Helwan, Mansoura, and Suez). The study tool was applied in the second semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The researcher conducted unstructured personal interviews with faculty members in the faculties of education in Egyptian universities.
The study reached several results, the most important of which are the following: Translation in the knowledge society plays the role of transmitting knowledge for employing it in educational research and authoring, which results in new knowledge that can be used economically to achieve financial returns. The faculties of education suffer from a deficiency in providing the supporting means for employing translation in educational research and authoring in the light of the knowledge society requirements, There is a deficiency in the educational researcher’s use of translation in educational research and authoring in the light of the knowledge society requirements, There are several obstacles facing the employment of translation in educational research and authoring in the light of the knowledge society requirements.
In the light of the results of the theoretic and field studies, a proposed perception was built to employ translation in educational research and authoring in the faculties of education in the light of the knowledge society requirements. The perception included the mechanisms through which the employment of translation in educational research and authoring in faculties of education can be reached in the light of the knowledge society requirements, in addition to confronting the obstacles that may hinder the employment of translation in educational research and authoring in the faculties of education.
