Abstract

NAFLD, which stands for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, is a set of disorders that affects individuals who consume little to no alcohol and manifests as a buildup of extra fat in the liver. It covers a wide range of disorders, from HS to NASH, which may cause cirrhosis, hepatic fibrosis, and hepatocellular cancer, increasing morbidity and death.
Chronic hyperglycemia and disturbances in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins are characteristics of diabetes. It is linked to a total or partial lack of insulin secretion and/or action, which is influenced by a number of variables including genetic, HLA, and environmental factors. These factors have an impact on the vascular system and may cause micro and macroangiopathy.
Common diseases like NAFLD and T2DM often coexist and might work in concert to provide unfavorable results. The chance of developing diabetic complications, such as macro- and micro-vascular problems, as well as the risk of developing more severe NAFLD, such as cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and mortality, are both increased by the presence of both NAFLD and T2DM.
