Abstract

Two field experiments were conducted at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Khattara region, Sharkia Governorate, Egypt during two successive summer seasons of 2019 and 2020, to investigate the performance of three peanuts cultivars (Giza 6, N.C. and Aramanch) under different seed treatments (control, Rhizobium inoculation, moringa leaf extracts, vitavax, gypsum, mixture “Rhizobium inoculation + Vitavax + Moringa leaf extracts”) . A split plot design of three replications was used, where; cultivars were allocated in the main plots, whereas seed treatments were allocated in sub-plots. The obtained results indicated that Giza 6 surpassed the two other cultivars in total dry weight/plant, number of pods/ plant, number of seeds/pod, weight of pods, seeds/plant, 100-seed weight (g), shelling %, pod, seed, protein and oil yields/fad, field emergence %, germination %, and germination energy. However, NC cultivars recorded the highest values of crude protein content, speed of germination, good seedling %, seedling fresh weight, seedling dry weight and seedling growth rate. On the other side, Aramanch cultivar surpassed the two other cultivars in oil content, seedling length, seedling length rate and germination index. Inoculation gave the highest values of number of pods/ plant, seed yield/fad. Gypsum application treatments tended to produce the highest values of the number of seeds/pod, 100- seed weight, weight of seeds/plant, seed protein content, oil content %, oil and protein yields/fad. Moringa leaf extracts gave the highest values of total dry weight/plant, weight of pods/plant, shelling %, pod yield/fed., speed of germination, good seedling %, germination energy, seedling length, seedling dry weight, seedling fresh weight, seedling growth rate, seedling length rate and germination index. The highest values of germination % and field emergence % were achieved by vitavax treatment. It could be concluded that the maximum pod, seed, protein and oil yields/fad could be obtained by Giza 6 when treated with gypsum application.
