Abistract:Ancient books are of great importance for shaping the minds of the Arab nation and carrying all knowledge in various fields. Since the title has scientific, artistic, aesthetic, and economic value and is the entry to the book itself, the study addressed the features of the old Arabic title, namely: title of fame - length of title- Synonyms - use of rhetorical enhancements - frequency of certain words frequently. The study then examines the suitability of Mark for these features. As a result, Mark cataloguing fits the features of the old Arabic title, but there are some recommendations to make Mark cataloguing more effective, especially for famous title
