The study aimed to clarify the role of economic intelligence and its importance in supporting competitiveness and its impact on sustainable development through the theoretical framework of the study. On sustainable development, the inductive approach was based on some literature that includes the role of economic intelligence in achieving sustainable development.
The study has been dealt with in five chapters:
The first chapter dealt with: The theoretical framework of economic intelligence
The second chapter: the strategic competitive role of economic intelligence
The third chapter: economic intelligence as a strategic option to support the economic competitiveness of enterprises
Chapter Four: Economic intelligence as a mechanism for achieving sustainable development
Chapter Five: The role of economic intelligence in enhancing the competitiveness of countries and future visions
The study reached some results:
1- Activating the economic intelligence system leads to a developmental role at various levels, especially in enhancing competitiveness to achieve sustainable development in implementation of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
2- Investment in economic intelligence is governed by a set of determinants that encourage or discourage it. Therefore, governments must provide an enabling environment to activate business enterprises in the information and communication technology sector, and find mechanisms that stimulate domestic and foreign investments and support the growth of small and medium enterprises.
3- The success of applying the governance of economic intelligence will only be achieved by providing an appropriate and encouraging legal framework in order to consolidate this culture in economic institutions and provide an environment that supports their credibility.
4- The process of transforming smart cities requires setting goals and a smart strategic vision to be translated into projects and the development of communications infrastructure, whether it is networks - data to build a set of applications that confirm the quality of economic intelligence.
5- The economic intelligence of renewable energy gives tax and customs benefits and tax exemption, given that investment in energy insurance is a national security issue, in addition to the establishment of a specialized agency in promotion and marketing that brings together the Renewable Energy Authority and the Investment Authority.
In light of these results, the study suggested some recommendations:
1- Urging the administrative leaders in the institutions to identify the contents of the dimensions of economic intelligence in an in-depth manner for their role in consolidating the pillars of competitive superiority and strengthening the institution’s positions in the competitive markets.
2- Establishing and consolidating mechanisms to establish the economic intelligence system by establishing banks and information systems that respond to the needs of society by providing incentive means in this regard.
3- The state must make economic intelligence a general and comprehensive goal, in light of the state’s current trend towards digital transformation through the actual dedication of economic intelligence at the decentralized and regional level, with the availability of a coordination mechanism together to manage the centralization.
4- Ensuring the promotion of a culture of competitive intelligence so that institutions are able to promote the exchange of knowledge and ideas between individuals and departments, in addition to raising cultural awareness of the economic intelligence system at various levels and in various fields.
5- The state, within the framework of intensive efforts, should increase the R&D expenditure allocation to enable economic intelligence in all institutions.
