Abstract

The Arab Republic of Egypt is considered one of the leading countries in the production and export of fresh and frozen strawberries worldwide. Grey mould, which caused by Botrytis cinerea, is a serious disease that significantly
reduces strawberry production globally, as the pathogen affects all parts of the plant, causing great economic losses that increase with increasing air humidity, especially with the observed climatic changes globally and locally. Recently, it has been observed in many countries of the world a decrease in the efficiency of fungicides used to control B. cinerea, which led to a significant decrease in production. This is due to the development of strains resistant to many commonly used fungicides. Therefore, the study was conducted with an aim isolation and purification of the diseased pathogen from different governorates (Beheira, Qalyubie, Ismailia and Dakahlia): 1- To detection and assessment of resistance frequencies to fungicides belong to different groups 2- To determine the Half-maximum effective concentration for the tested fungicides (EC50) and determine the resistance factor. 3- To discover the dual resistance between carbendazim and diethofencarb. 4- To find out the most appropriate fungicide which can be used in the control strategies against B. cinerea 5- To discover the emergence of resistant strains in the most strawberry producing governorates 6- To Track the change in resistance ratios with repeated use of the same fungicides in the same places 7- In the end, to measure the efficiency of commercial fungicides, single or mixed, protective and curative, at the recommended concentrations, on controlling the detected resistant isolates.
