Consensus is considered one of the sources of Islamic legislation, and it is the third source of legal rulings after the Qur’an and Sunnah. Its appearance was due to new issues that arose after the death of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace، so it became a necessary source for a son of it. Because the Prophet warned against division and disagreement, he urged consensus in the hadiths. There are many، and the consensus must be based on a source from the Book and its tongues، which are the only and primary sources of legislation. Consensus is also considered one of the characteristics that characterizes Islamic legislation, as it is the third source of legislation and derives its evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah, so it becomes an important control for the integrity of the understanding of Islam and its legislative texts, and adherence to what the nation has agreed upon and upon which its belief and thought is based، as it embodies belief unity, and the intellectual nature of the nation, and makes Muslims one nation.Consensus is one of the principles of jurisprudence, and some believe that it is the door that allows ijtihad for all the elements of the Islamic nation, but some saw in it an argument to invalidate all the components of the nation, and they see it as specifying from the opinions of scholars what suggests consensus، even if this leads to opposition to the text, as happened with the Kharijites with Ali. Ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him, and as happens in our current era with some who call out a false cry against the Islamic religion, even if it is closed with slogans, they do not understand its meaning and what it can lead to، and this is ”Ahmad ibn Hanbal” and other scholars said: ”Whoever claims consensus has lied”. So how about a sect that claims to understand and not others and is prevented? Asking about what people are ignorant of in their belief that the nation has agreed that the one who applies God’s law is an infidel without explaining the accuracy of this ruling and its relevance, or that the one who commits a major sin is an infidel and will live forever in Hell without showing any evidence of their ruling and not the rule of God. Ali bin Abi Talib was right when They confronted him with the word, ”There is no judgment but God”, and he told them, ”A word of truth by which I mean falsehood”. Finally, saying that consensus is valid and acting upon it is more important for rational people to be keen on it, and those in charge in every Muslim country who have the reins of affairs should provide the opportunity for the specialized scholars to whom God has given the faculty of ijtihad and who fulfill His conditions to meet at times specified for them in a specific place, and to present They have issues, and they agree on its ruling -if consensus is possible- especially in these verses in which the modern means of communication are available through the audio and visual media, and other devices that prevail over fast communication, and consensus is a call to adherence، and God has commanded us to do.Finally, the consensus has remained, to this day, a subject of disagreement among scholars, jurists, and theologians as well. The differences did not stop at the limits of its definition and how it occurred, or the differences about the evidence establishing its authority. Rather, the differences were about proving whether it is a principle of jurisprudence or not. They were divided between supporters and opponents of its authority as a principle from which rulings are derived. Or issues of religion are built on it, but it has an important position in the Sunni system that cannot be overlooked.
