Abstract
”Aim: To compare the efficacy of Simvistatin and Allantoin on bone formation , pain and soft tissue healing after surgical removal of impacted mandibular third molars . Material and Methods: Thirty patients were devided into three groups each (n=10) one of them is control group and two study groups each is exposed to one material . Results: 1- Pain No significant differences were found between the three groups 2- Soft tissue healing No Significant diiferences were found between the three groups 3 -Bone Density : Highest values of bone density were related to Simvastatin group followed by Allantoin group followed by control group . Significant differences between control and simvastatin group and between control and Allantoin group were found one month and three months after surgery whereas no significant diffence was found between Simvistatin and Allantoin group. Conclusions: the Two materials are capable of enhancing bone regeneration in the site of extraction with different levels.
