Abstract
Thyroid gland is an endocrine gland located in the lower part of the anterior side of the neck from the second to third tracheal rings and lower than Adams apple. Thyroid is made of 2 lobes, each is laying on right and left sides of the tracheal wall, the 2 lobes are connected with isthmus (a thin strip of thyroid tissue extends across the anterior surface of the trachea). Each lobe is about 3- 4 cm long, 2 cm wide, and, in most cases, a few millimeters (mm) thick, (Fig.1) (Martini et al., 2015).
