The current study aimed to visualize a proposed visualization of the university’s schedule in confronting rumors, to identify the most important Qur’anic directives in confronting rumors.
To determine the objectives of the study, the researcher relied on the descriptive approach, and the tools used in the field study were a questionnaire to identify the most important Qur’anic directives in confronting rumors among university students, A sample of 1,000 individuals was selected, including male and female students from Sohag University.
The field study reached several results, the most important of which are: the presence of social and psychological effects to a large extent of rumors on society and university students, the most important of which are: the media and communication play an active role in the ease of transmission and spread of rumors among students, rumors affect students’ capabilities and potential, and rumors cause anxiety and psychological distress Among university students, rumors create hatred and feelings of hostility among university students, and rumors disrupt the students’ proper decision-making mechanism, Rumors affect the ability of students to think creatively or critically. The university also plays a major role in confirming or denying rumors circulating among its students through its various websites. The university prepares its faculty members to face the dangers of rumors. The university holds conferences and seminars hosting In it, those concerned with combating rumors from security, media, health and education personnel...etc., the lack of sufficient knowledge and awareness among university students of methods of countering rumors, and the inadequacy of the university’s role in holding seminars and lectures on rumors and their impact on the individual and society, in addition to the university students’ knowledge of the most important Qur’anic directives in confronting rumors.
In the light of the results of the study, a proposed vision was developed to confront rumors among university students in the light of the Holy Qur’an, It included three axes (the psychological and social effects of rumors on university students, the role of the university in confronting rumors, and identifying the most important Qur’anic directives in confronting rumors).
