Abstract

Conflict is a new form of opposition focused on the adversaries, based on the Incompatibility of purposes, intentions and values of the opponent parties. Conflict management is essential to solve the problems raised by conflict and to overcome the negative impacts of conflict. Adolescents can get more advantage, if they know how to handle conflict in a proper way. The aim of the study is to assess conflict resolution behaviors used by addict adolescents and assess correlates to Conflict resolution behaviors among addict adolescence. A descriptive correlational design was utilized in the current study. A sample of convenience of 150 addict adolescent who were attending to the outpatient clinic in Kasr ALaini psychiatric and addiction hospital. Five tools were utilized in the current study including socio - demographic characteristics and drug abuse history, Symptom check list (SCL - 90), Conflict resolution behaviors questionnaire, developed by the researcher, Eysenck personality scale (EPQ) for children and adolescent, and method of Parenting handling scale. The Findings revealed that, no single style of conflict handling is always appropriate. In any given situation a particular mode of handling conflict may be suitable than others. statistical significant correlation between father and mother parenting styles and conflict resolution behaviors
