Abstract

Twenty one Rhizoctonia solani were isolated and purified from different location from Egypt. They had comparable growth rates matching with that of the AG3 PT tester RS-114 and all these 21 isolates were compatible with the tester RS-114 where found that 13 isolates compatible with the tester RS-114 and 8 isolates were incompatible. Nuclear number of the hyphal cell found the 12 isolates similar to RS-114 between 6-8 nuclei per cell. where the other isolates each cell had 3 nuclei. Septal pore cap ultrastructure was examined. Sequences of rDNA ITS of all isolates showed high similarities 98.8 and 96% with RS-114 Genomic DNA of R. solani was also used for RAPD with 14 primers and they were showed high range of diversity with 100% polymorphism. These results relative similarity of ITS sequences region of R. solani isolates with each other based on base sequences obtained that 13 isolates (Rh4, Rh5, Rh6, Rh7, Rh8, Rh9, Rh11, Rh12, Rh16, Rh17, Rh19 and Rh21) belong to AG-3 with 60% from total isolates where, 25% from isolates (Rh14, Rh15, Rh18, Rh22, and Rh23) belong to AG4-HGI, 5% the isolate number Rh2 belong to AG2-1, 5% the isolate number Rh20 belong to AG4-HGII, 5% isolate number Rh24 belong AG-F
