Abstract

A field experiment was carried out in the technical of guiding towards Agricultural (ARC) Dokki Giza, during two seasons of 2011 and 2012. Effect of light intensity (100%, 63% and 35%) and the different fertilization resources(chemical fertilization, bio fertilization, yeast fertilization, mycrrohiza fertilization and non fertilization)and their interaction on growth , yield and some chemical constituents of sage plant (Salvia officinalis L.). The results in both seasons pointed out that, chemical fertilization and / or low light intensity 3000 ft / c significantly increased plant height, branching, fresh and dry weights, essential oil, yields per plant and per feddan and chlorophylls a, b and carotenoids compared to control plants in both seasons. Seventeen compounds were identified in the essential oil. The major components were Ü - hujone, camphor and 1.8 cineole. All components percentages unaffected by fertilization and light intensity treatments. The highest values of total carbohydrates, N, P, K and protein percentages resulted from the plants fertilized by chemical fertilization when grown under highest light intensity 100% (8000 ft / c) and their interaction between them in the two seasons
