Abstract

This prospective In-Vitro study aimed to evaluate the accuracy, reproducibility, and reliability of a new device called (AKH).
The device is designed to simplify the bracket positioning process in orthodontics by incorporating a ready-made bracket holder with a vertical positioning tip.
The (AKH) device is available in various vertical heights, starting from 3 mm to 6 mm with 0.5 mm intervals, providing orthodontists with greater flexibility in their bracket positioning.
The goal of the device is to make the bracket positioning process a one-step process, streamlining the orthodontic bonding procedure.
In this study, 10 study models were selected and duplicated. The casts were bonded after drawing a long axis and mesio-distal reference line.
The models were then sprayed with anti-reflecting spray and scanned with a 3shape desktop scanner to create digital models. blinding was done to obscure the model group from the operator during measurement.
The results of the study showed good intra and inter- observer reliability. The device demonstrated a high degree of accuracy comparable to the (HBPG) in all type of tooth.
Despite these challenges, the (AKH) device still proved to be a valuable addition to the orthodontic bonding process. Further modifications to the device design may be necessary to improve the bonding results for all teeth.
