Abstract
The present experiments were carried out at the laboratory of the Economic Entomology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Damietta University and the Stored Product Research Department, Plant Protection Research Institute, Agricultural Research Center, Sakha, Kafr El-Sheikh to study the following points:
1. Surveying the main coleopterous insect pests that infest wheat grains during storage under laboratory conditions in Damietta governorate.
2. Estimating the insect population during the storage period for wheat grains.
3. Evaluating the preferability of different wheat varieties to infestation by the stored insect pests.
4. Determining some biological aspects of the Khapra grain beetle, T. granarium on various wheat grain varieties under laboratory conditions.
5. Examining the effect of essential oils and chemical pesticides on the Khapra grain beetle, T. granarium
