Title of the study:”Abuse of elderly residents in the social care homes and its relationship to psychological loneliness and death anxiety”

Aim of the study: The study aimed to find out the relationship between the elder abuse and the feeling of psychological loneliness and death anxiety among a sample of the elderly residing in social care homes. Sample of the study: The final sample consisted of (300) elderly men and women from the elderly social care homes, and the descriptive approach was used in this study. The study’s tools: The elder abuse scale and psychological loneliness scale and death anxiety scale (prepared by the researcher) Results: showed the following Statistically significant positive correlation exists between the study sample scores on the elder abuse scale and scores on the psychological loneliness scale.
No statistically significant correlation between the study sample scores on the elderly abuse scale and scores on the death anxiety scale, but there was a correlation between the dimension of health abuse and death anxiety at level of (0.05).
No statistically significant correlation between the study sample scores on the death anxiety scale and their scores on the psychological loneliness scale.
No statistically significant differences between the average scores of (males-females) on the dimensions of the elder abuse scale and the scale overall score.
No statistically significant differences between the average scores of individuals in psychological, social and economic abuse and the total score of the elderly abuse scale due to the age, while there are statistically significant differences at level (0.05) between the average scores of individuals due to the age in health abuse.
No statistically significant differences between the average scores of individuals in the dimensions of the psychological loneliness scale and the scale total score due to gender and age.
No statistically significant differences between the average scores of individuals in the dimensions of the death anxiety scale and the scale total score due to gender and age.The effect of psychological loneliness and death anxiety on elder abuse can be predicted.
