Abstract

In conclusion, the present systematic review suggests that GK-SRS for CPA meningiomas is a highly effective technique for the management of those lesions. The results of the studies analyzed indicate a high rate of tumor control and cessation of clinical deterioration following GK-SRS. Moreover, the rates of radiation-induced complications reported were acceptable, with most of them being manageable.
The use of GK-SRS for CPA meningiomas as a non-invasive alternative to traditional surgical methods offers several advantages, including a lower risk of complications, a faster recovery time, and a more favorable cosmetic outcome. These advantages make GK-SRS an attractive option for patients with CPA meningiomas who are not suitable for traditional surgical methods.
However, it is important to acknowledge the limitations of the studies analyzed, including the retrospective nature of many of the studies and the small sample sizes of some of the studies. Furthermore, the differences in the definitions used for stable and unstable tumor growth, non-randomized treatment assignment, variations in outcome definitions, and the heterogeneous patient population also contributed to the heterogeneity among the studies.
In conclusion, GK-SRS for CPA meningiomas could be considered as a highly effective technique for the management of those lesions with acceptable rates of side effects. However, further well-designed and well-conducted randomized controlled trials with larger sample sizes and longer follow-up periods are necessary to validate the findings of the present systematic review.
