Abstract
The comprehensive concept of productivity is a measure of the progress of nations and the strength of their economy. Productivity differs in its definition and methods of measurement in various references and researches, as well as its vocabulary, how to maximize it and its indicators within institutions in their various specializations, whether industrial or service.
Productivity is generally defined as a relationship between outputs and inputs, and it is one of the basic variables that govern economic production activities, and perhaps the most important one. However, productivity is seen as one of the most important factors affecting the competitiveness of manufacturing firms. Many managers do not understand what the term productivity means. It is often misunderstood and confused with similar terms, and it is rarely measured appropriately.
