Abstract

background: work-related musclo-skeletal disorders(WRMDs) become a threatening issue affecting workers’ production capacity, so recent research directed to find ways to restrict its prevalence. One of these ways is to correlate between workers dimensions and their workstation. purpose: to find correlations between anthropometric measures with postural abnormalities, RULA score and hand grip power in factory workers.participants: 290 garment production line workers of both sexes have the same work requirements and work in the same ergonomics.methods: anthropometric Variables assessed by measurement tape, LASER deviceand metal ruler to asses heights, while posture assessed by Scoliometer and other deviations by mobile APP for assessing posture (APECS).Moreover, ergonomics and dynamic posture assessed by Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) and finally measuring hand grip power by hand grip dynamometer.results: Significant correlations were found between anthropometric measures, RULA, posture and hand grip power.conclusion: When dealing with the same workstation dimensions for all workers, it is very important to select workers regarding their anthropometric measures as it has different correlations with different postural abnormalities, which in turn cause WRMD and affect production ability
