Abstract
Sign language is the mother language for deaf and hard hearing people. Facial expressions have a very important role in deciding the meaning of a sign. They can totally change the meaning of sign that accompany to them. This thesis presents automatic translation systems for facial expressions and signs that accompany to them. There are two proposed systems, the first one deals with alphabets in sign language and the second system deals with words in sign language. The final output from two systems depends on results from signs and facial expressions that accompany to them
