Abstract The grasshopper, chrotogonus homalodemus, a pest of seedlings, distributed in North and East Africa and in South Asia. This study concerning the effect of constant temperature on different stages of C. homalodemus resulted in threshold temperature of 15, 8 and 5{u00BA}C for egg, nymph and adult stages, respectively. Life tables parameters are basically calculated by recording death and births within a population on a daily basis from the time that the first egg of an insect is laid to the time that all of the insects died. Study the immature stages of C. homalodemus indicated that the 2nd and 4th instars have the highest mortality rate between all instars that may be the best target for the application of control measurements. The growing degree days required for one generation of C. homalodemus for outdoor 1st generation differed from outdoor 2nd and those of controlled generation |
