Abstract
The present study was conducted to evaluate and compare the clinical and immunological effect SRP with adjunctive spirulina gel versus spirulina nanogel in the treatment of chronic periodontitis. Thirty systemically healthy patients, their ages ranges between 30 to 50 years old suffering from chronic periodontitis were selected from outpatient clinic of the Department of Oral Medicine, Periodontology, Oral Diagnosis, and Radiology, Faculty of dentistry, Tanta University to participate in the present study. All patients received initial therapy of full mouth SRP carried out at one session with oral hygiene instructions. Among these patients 30 sites with deepest periodontal pockets were selected for treatment classified randomly into three groups by using sealed envelopes.
