Abstract

This study was carried out on 140 one day old broiler chicks for five weeks to
investigate the effect of magnetically treated water and yeast supplementation on growth
performance, hematological parameters, some serum biochemical parameters, oxidative
stress and antioxidant as well as some inflammatory markers. The chicks were classified
into 4 equal groups (35 chicks each) as following: GI: free from water additives, G II:
supplied with magnetic water, G III: supplied with yeast as water additives in dose
0.8g/L daily and G IV: supplied with combination of magnetic water and yeast in dose
0.8 g/L daily. Our results revealed that body weight and weight gain non-significantly
changed in the groups given magnetic water, yeast and combination of them. The feed
intake and feed conversion ratio significantly decreased in the magnetic and yeast group
while, there was no significant change in feed intake in the combination group. The
RBCs count, Hb, PCV, MCV, MCH, MCHC didn’t show any significant difference in
magnetic water, yeast and combination group. The WBCs count significantly increased
in the magnetic water and yeast groups, but it didn’t show any significant difference in
combination group. ALT significantly decreased in magnetic water; meanwhile, AST
non significantly changed in all groups. Total protein, albumin and globulin showed nonsignificantly changed in all groups supplemented. Glucose showed non significantly
changed in all groups. Creatinine and uric acid showed non-significantly changed in all
groups supplemented. Malondialdehyde and GSH revealed non-significantly difference
in magnetic water, yeast group and combination group. IL6 significantly increased in
magnetic water and yeast group; while it non-significantly changed in combination
group. IL10 significantly decreased in magnetic water group and yeast group while it
non-significantly changed in combination group. It could be concluded that using
magnetic water and yeast improved the growth performance and don’t have any toxic
effect.
