Abstract

The fixed screw-retained full arch prosthesis for restoring edentulous Maxillary arches showed a great success in terms of predictability and long term prognosis, but when the patient of lip support the esthetics become one of the main demands, Thus , the hybrid prosthesis found to resolve a critical problem among fully edentulous patients.
Nonetheless, one of the basic complications of this type of prosthesis is splinting implants in order to support the acrylic superstructure, which mainly achieved by cast metal framework.
In this study, 11 patient with edentulous Maxillae were rehabilitated with hybrid implant supported prostheses, each patient received 6 implants and after a healing period of 4 months each patient received both two treatments (split mouth design) group A was restored with conventional metal framework and group B had a titanium bar that welded to the abutments intraorally with intraoral electric welding device.
The goal was to assess and compare the soft tissue changes in both groups through the changes in the probing depth level as one of the earlier indicators for the diseases of the peri-implant tissues, It was concluded that no significant difference found between the two groups and that intraoral welding technique exhibited a satisfactory results.
