Abstract Introduction: chronic myeloid leukemia is a clonal disorder which resulted, in 95% of patients, due to presence of distinctive cytogenetic abnormality, the Philadelphia chromosome, which cause a reciprocal translocation between the long arms of chromosomes 9 and 22 (t 9; 22) and affecting the myeloid cells precursors in the bone marrow. Methods: this thesis includes 54 patients (males and females) presenting in NCI during years 2016 and 2017. Results: the median age for the study population is 36.5 years. All are in MMR for at least 2 years. All cases stopped their TKI and followed regularly by clinical examination and PCR for BCR-ABL, of our cases, 54% remain in MMR during the study period and 78% of the relapsed cases regain their MMR after resuming the same ttt. Conclusion: Trial to stop TKI for eligible patients is a safe and effective maneuver |
