Abstract

Libya is considered one of the countries that suffer from a lack of water resources, where the pressure on fresh water resources is increasing due to population growth and rapid industrialization. Water is necessary to sustain all forms of life. Groundwater supplies nearly 95% of Libya’s needs. Groundwater is an important water source for drinking, agricultural, and industrial purposes, as well as domestic purposes, especially in its coastal region.
Some of the important health problems faced by African countries including Libya are related to drinking unhealthy water; According to the World Health Organization about 80% of all human diseases are caused by water, quality assessment will help maintain the highest possible levels of safety quality in accordance with local water quality standards and WHO standards.
The study showed that the water is characterized as being slightly alkaline and the temperature is close to the norm (25°C). Electrical conductivity (1754 to 2915) above standard, saline dissolved solids (1000-3000) in most wells.
