Study title: Developing the performance of educational crisis management units in basic education schools in Sohag Governorate in the light of the strategic planning approach: a field study.
The study aimed to identify the theoretical foundations for managing educational crises in contemporary administrative thought, and the most important intellectual foundations for strategic planning in the light of contemporary educational literature, and to identify the most important features of educational crisis management units in basic education schools in Sohag Governorate and the requirements for applying strategic planning to develop them, and to diagnose the reality of the units’ performance Managing educational crises in basic education schools in light of the strategic planning approach in Sohag governorate, and presenting a proposed vision for developing the performance of educational crisis management units in basic education schools in Sohag governorate in light of the strategic planning approach.
The study relied on the descriptive approach that was used to study and clarify the characteristics of the phenomenon and its interpretation, and a questionnaire was applied to a sample of principals and deputies of basic education schools in Sohag Governorate, and it amounted to (200) individuals. Among the most important results of the study are the following:
- Weak interest in surveying the work environment in crisis management units in basic education schools to monitor and treat problems before they escalate and turn into crises.
- The weakness of the educational crisis management units to seek to improve the level of performance of its members through a defect in the existence of a vision.
- Lack of possession of some educational crisis management units in harmony with the strategic objectives of the crisis management unit’s vision and mission.
- The keenness of educational crisis management units to deal with crises as opportunities to improve conditions.
- The weak ability of the educational crisis management units to make strategic decisions that are consistent with the plans set.
Then, a proposed vision was developed to develop the performance of educational crisis management units based on the results of the theoretical and field study.
