Abstract

This study was directed to estimate the effect of adding some OA sources (as feed supplementation) such as CA, MA, FUA and their mixture of the previous OA at 0.6% levels of each in growing Japanese quails diet on productive performance, carcass characteristics, digestibility of nutrients, some blood strictures and economic efficiency. Three hundred seventy five, one day old, unsexed quail chicks were, distributed randomly into 5 dietary groups (75 birds each) of 3 replicates (25 chicks/ replicate
The sequence of the 5 dietary treatments was as follows:- diet without any supplementation, diet contain 0.6% CA, diet contain 0.6% MA, diet contain 0.6 % FUA and diet contain 0.6% mixture (of CA, MA and FUA acids by 0.2% level of each acid).
Body weight and FI were recorded weekly throughout the experimental periods. Body gain and FRC (g, feed/g, gain) for each replicate within each week were calculated. No dead chicks were noted as a result of the experimental treatments. At the 6 weeks of age, a digestion trial was done. The digestibility of nutrients such as (DM, OM, CP, EE, CF and NFE) was calculated. Also, representative samples of birds were randomly taken, fasted for about 12 hours, and then weighed individually at the end of the experiment (6 weeks of age). Fifteen birds were sacrificed and after complete bleeding, the quails were scalded and feathers were plucked. Carcasses were eviscerated, heads and shanks were separated. The absolute and the proportions of carcasses, giblets and offals were recoded and calculated.
During slaughter time blood samples (in nonheparins tubes) taken from each bird sacrificed to estimate some blood biochemical parameters such as (TP, TA, TG, TA/TG, Cholesterol and TL). The economical efficiency was calculated by Egyptian pound (L.E) according to the prices of year 2020.
