Abstract

Hazardous organic and inorganic contaminants have seriously polluted the environment as a result of the development of diverse industrial operations in recent decades. The use of dyes in a variety of industries, including textile, paint printing, food, paper, leather, wood, cosmetics, and plastics, is an example of such hazardous colored ionized aromatic organic pollutants. The chemical formula for MB, a thiazine dye, is C16H18N3ClS. Because of its chemical structure, it is water soluble and chemically stable, making it valuable in a variety of industries. With the chemical formula C25H30ClN3, CV is a cationic triphenyl-methane dye that is employed as a biological stain, textile colorant, and paper dye. When present, CV can result in mammalian cell toxicity, skin and digestive tract irritation, and respiratory and renal failure. Diverse technologies, including reverse osmosis, membrane filtration, chemical precipitation, solvent extraction, biological treatment, oxidation, chemical coagulation/flocculation, irradiation, ion exchange ozonation, and adsorption, as well as other methods commonly used to remove dyes from aqueous media like catalysis, chemical reductions, and photo-catalysis were investigated to remove various pollutants from wastewater.
