Abstract

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a Gram-negative, rod-shaped and mono flagellated bacterium. P. aeruginosa is widespread in nature, and it belongs to Pseudomonadaceae bacterial family, and is widely distributed in moist environments in hospitals. It is length is about 1-5 μm and it is width is about 0.5-1.0 μm. P. aeruginosa classified as an aerobic bacterium, and many others classify it as facultative anaerobe, and it can proliferate in partial or complete oxygen depletion. (Migiyama et al., 2016). It can utilize large variety of carbon source to survive. All these abilities make P. aeruginosa a very abundant microorganism, and it can be found in soil, water, humans, animals, plants, sewage, and hospitals (Wiehlmann et al., 2007). P. aeruginosa, was known by it is typical marks as production of pyocyanin, oxidase positivity, grape-like odour and motility. It has the ability to decarboxylate arginine and it can grow in 42°C as it can deal with temperatures as high as 50°C. P. aeruginosa is different from other types of P. aeruginosa species, because of it is ability to persist at 42°C (Zafer et al., 2014).
