Abstract

History: The role of COVID19 infection in the development of FM, CFS, depression and sleep disturbance post COVID19 is considered. The diagnosis of these diseases can be facilitated by different questionnaires.
Job objective: Screening of the occurrence of both fibromyalgia & chronic fatigue syndrome in post COVID19 health professional populations, their risk factors and impact on life wellbeing if present. The following should be investigated:
Patients and methods: Two hundred adults from medical field professionals (physicians & nurses) (114 women and 86 men), from Minya University hospitals in the period from {March, 2021 till September, 2021}. All had been tested positive for COVID-19 (RT-PCR) with age ranging from (18 – 70) years were included. The Revised Fibromyalgia Diagnostic Criteria, CFS questionnaire, MINIDEP screening tool been used for diagnosis. Revised Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQR) and short-form McGill pain questionnaire (SF-MPQ) used for severity and functional assessment.
Results: post COVID19 FM in 5.4% of patients based on the Revised Fibromyalgia Diagnostic Criteria, CFS in 16.3% based on CFS questionnaire, depression in 9.9% based on MINIDEP screening tool for depression was observed in 200 post COVID19 health care staff. It was found that treatment with analgesics /NSAIDS and supplemental oxygen, preexistent diabetes and preexistent obesity were significant predictors for FM in post COVID patients, duration of COVID illness was significant predictors for CFS and depression in post COVID patients
