المستخلص The present study aimed at investigating the effect of a proposed ESP programme on developing transliteracy skills of the Biology Section students at faculties of education. The study participants consisted of thirty first-year Biology Section students chosen randomly from Damietta Faculty of Education. The researcher prepared an open-ended questionnaire for specialists at Biology field in the faculty of science and the faculty of education at Damietta University to determine the suitable topics for first year students at Biology Section. A Needs analysis questionnaire was prepared to determine Biology Section students’ requirements concerning the topics necessary to read and write about in the field of Biology. A transliteracy skill checklist was designed to determine the suitable transliteracy skills for them. A pre- post transliteracy test was applied on the participants to compare their transliteracy skills before and after the treatment. The proposed ESP programme was implemented on the participants for eight weeks. The results of the study showed the positive effect of the proposed ESP programme in developing the participants’ transliteracy skills. |
