Abstract

In the introduction, the researcher paves the way for the curriculum that he will deal with, discussing the reasons for choosing the subject with a historical presentation of the school curricula in Egypt before this curriculum, then he poses many questions that he seeks to answer in the upcoming parts. In the first part, the researcher presents the definition of lexicology, lexicography and borrowing. Then, he reviews the linguistic sign and follows it by discussing the concept of the word, the term which is no longer used by linguists, as it is a vague term that is not precisely defined. So, linguists use other terms to refer to lexical unit. In the second part, the most important one, the researcher reviews the evolution of lexicostatistics and its origin continuing to clarify lexicostatistics software with a presentation of the most important functions of the program used in the research, (Lexico 3) program. Then, the researcher performs a statistical analysis of the vocabulary of the book through this program with comments on the results of the analysis. In the third part, the researcher reviews the lexical relations that exist within the three books, such as semantic relations, synonym, antonym and homonym. In the conclusion, the researcher presents many of the results obtained by highlighting some errors discovered within the three books in an attempt by the researcher to improve the quality of the textbook and help the Ministry of Education in the ideal choice of curricula with the presentation of some other software that may be useful to many researchers in the future.
