Abstract
Inflammation is considered a normal response toward any changes in tissue either being internal or external changes and eliminating it. However, inflammation may progress into a disease that may become an acute or chronic disease. Moreover, chronic inflammation can result in death. So there is always a needs to discover new anti- inflammatories with high therapeutic index and low side effects.
This work was planned to investigate the anti-inflammatory activity, analgesics, and side effects of curcumin in comparison with celecoxib and prednisolone.
The study was performed on 60 adult albino rats of the Wistar strain weighing 200-220 g. The animals were obtained from the Central Animal House of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University.
