المستخلص

Childhood is a critical period in human life and the right time for major interventions such as increased self-concept, self-esteem, and social skills in children.
Self-concept has received much attention, and it is considered a very important quality in children since it aids in building positive relationships with their peers in school and participating in recreational activities, and so on. A normal child from a very young age begins to build a self-image or visualization. The image or visualization is usually related to a child’s self-concept. In fact, a child’s image or visualization of his own self is self-concept, and the value assigned to this image or visualization is the same self-evaluation called self-esteem.
Play is regarded as a central element of healthy growth through which children develop self-regulation and self-esteem, self-concept.

Thus, this study aims at designing a play therapy program and shed light on its effectiveness to develop self-concept in a sample of kindergarten children.
Aims of the study:-
The study aims to identify the effectiveness of a play therapy program in the development of self-concept in a sample of kindergarten children.
2
The problem of study:-
The problem of the study can be determined through of the following questions:-
1- Are there statistically significant differences among the means ranks of the experimental group and the means ranks of the control group (after the play therapy program) on the self-concept Scale in favour of the Experimental Group?
2- Are there statistically significant differences among the means ranks of the experimental group in the pre-test and the means ranks of the same group in the post test on the self-concept Scale in favour of the post-test?
3- Are there no statistically significant differences among the means ranks of the experimental group in the post-test and the means ranks of the same group in the follow up-test on the self-concept Scale?
procedures of the study:-
1- Method:
The study used the experimental approach, using pretest - posttest control / experimental group design .
2- The study sample:-
The study sample consists of (10 subjects as an experimental group) were exposed to the play therapy program, and control group consists of (10 subjects as an control group) were not exposed to the play therapy program.

3- Study tools:-
- Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scales, Fifth Edition.
- Self-concept Scale (prepared by the researcher).
- Play Therapy program (prepared by the researcher).
4- Statistical methods:-
- Factor Analysis.
- Correlation Coefficient.
- Mann-Whitney (U) test.
- The Wilcoxon(W) matched pairs-signed ranks test.
- Cronbach alpha.
hypotheses of The Study:-
1- There are statistically significant differences among the means ranks of the experimental group and the means ranks of the control group (after the play therapy program) on the self-concept Scale in favour of the Experimental Group.
2- There are statistically significant differences among the means ranks of the experimental group in the pre-test and the means ranks of the same group in the post test on the self-concept Scale in favour of the post-test .
3- There are no statistically significant differences among the means ranks of the experimental group in the post-test and the means ranks of the same group in the follow up-test on the self-concept Scale.

Results of The Study:-
The Integrative counseling program proved to be effective. Results of the study showed the following:
1- There are statistically significant differences among the means ranks of the experimental group and the means ranks of the control group (after the play therapy program) on the self-concept Scale in favour of the Experimental Group.
2- There are statistically significant differences among the means ranks of the experimental group in the pre-test and the means ranks of the same group in the post test on the self-concept Scale in favour of the post-test.
3- There are no statistically significant differences among the means ranks of the experimental group in the post-test and the means ranks of the same group in the follow up-test on the self-concept Scale.
