Abstract Reducing the loss of agrochemicals and protect the soil and ground water from pollution by using an unique technique for controlled release ( Hydrogel) through ionotropic gelation method by using biodegradable polymers ( alginate-pectin ) to control the release for both chemical fertilizer (Urea) and an antifungal (copper sulfate). The formula of Hydrogel was supported by one of metals clay (Zeolite) in different ratios 1%, 5%. The release and swelling studies were investigated and the micro particles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscope (SEM), the results indicated that the presence of Zeolite and increase in the concentration of crosslinking agent elongate the time of release for Urea, In addition to micro particles gave good results as an antifungal through microbiology test. |
