Abstract loss after bariatric surgery may lead to abdominal skin redundancy which causes disfiguring shape for the abdomen and flanks, so in many post bariatric cases abdominoplasty is required. Every abdominoplasty technique has its advantages and disadvantage especially in post bariatric patients who suffer from many skin and shape changes in a rapid way. Among all abdominoplasty techniques classic and high lateral tension methods were applied in this study and outcome, complications and patient satisfaction were monitored to evaluate and get a proper idea about the best technique to be done in such patients. The main concern of HLT patients was the scar shape, site and size which did not match their expectations about the final shape of their bodies while the satisfaction degree was higher in classic cases as regard the abdomen shape and the scar issues. The complications either early or late were almost the same in both techniques and there was no major difference in seroma or wound dehesince between both techniques while Keloid formation showed more chance in HLT.Based on this study classic abdominoplasty is recommended that HLT technique as it is more reliable, better scar shape and more satisfactory for the patients. |
