Abstract

This study aims at biosynthesizing of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) eco-friendly using endophytic fungi. In the present study, three endophytic fungal strains Alternaria tenuissima AUMC13621, Fusarium decemcellulare AUMC13620 and Aspergillus fumigatus AUMC13622 were able to synthesize mono-dispersed AgNPs with small size (10-50 nm) and high intensity. In order to enhance AgNPs production by the most productive strains, a series of reaction conditions were examined. The effect of gamma irradiation was studied for enhancement the reduction of silver ions to AgNPs and stabilization of the biosynthesized AgNPs. After complete characterization of the biosynthesized AgNPs by UV- Visible spectroscopy- Dynamic light scattering analysis (DLS), Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), their bioactivity were examined . It was found that AgNPs showed a potential antimicrobial activity. Moreover, they exhibited antioxidant and antitumor activity.
