Abstract

an eco-friendly water-free dyeing method was constructed to dye unmodified polypropylene (PP) and cotton woven fabrics with with N,N-diethyl-4-((4-vinylsulfonyl)phenyl)diazenylaniline dye under (scCO2) medium. Two types of cotton fabrics (woven & knitted) were dyed with the same vinyl sulfone disperse dye in the presence of disodium edetate as a swelling agent under scCO2. The results are compared with those obtained with water dyeing and it is observed that the colour strength of the dyed PP samples in scCO2 are more highly applicable than in water.
