Abstract

The thesis discussed the determination of some selected drugs either alone, in combination or in presence of its degradation products. It consisted of four parts describing the introduction, literature review, the experimental work, in addition to the references and arabic summary. The studied methods included voltammetry, TLC and HPLC methods. Optimization of the conditions and validation of the method were investigated. Part I: Development of voltammetric method for determination of articaine hydrochloride and epinephrine by modified electrode It divided into two chapters: Chapter 1: General introduction In this chapter, pharmacological action of articaine HCl and epinephrine as well as the chemical structure and physical properties were discussed. A brief review of the different methods reported in the literature for its determination in drug substance, pharmaceutical dosage form and biological fluids. Chapter2: Estimation of articaine hydrochloride and epinephrine simultaneously by voltammetry using nanomodified zirconium electrode in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage Form This chapter developed and validated the voltammetric method for the analysis of articaine HCl and epinephrine electrochemically. Linearity range for articaine HCl at PGE was (6.62 × 10 -5 - 56. 6 × 10 -5 mol L -1 ), for CPE (3.90 × 10 -5 - 15.7 × 10 -5 mol L -1 ), and at ZRE (5.96 × 10 -5 - 23.4× 10 -5 mol L -1 ). Linearity range for epinephrine at PGE was (9.90 × 10 -5 - 29.10 × 10 -5 mol L -1 ), at CPE (4.97 × 10 -5 – 17.70 × 10 -5 mol L -1 ), and at ZRE (2.99 × 10 -5 -22.50× 10 -5 mol L -1 ). The method was applied for dosage form and urine analysis with good recovery percentage.
